Okay, I know its been months since I last wrote a blog post and a LOT has happened since my last one in February. I debated if I should write a recap of everything I missed or just move on - however, I decided for myself I wanted to have a small recap of everything that happened so here we are. So buckle up, grab a soda and get ready to hear about all the fun events, concerts, and updates that happened from February (I know, so long ago) till now! February 12th KonnectPop and I partnered up to bring you our 5th annual Valentines Day party! For 5 years we have been celebrating the day of love with friends, food, music, and games with an old school valentines exchange. I have to admit, the Valentines party is one of my favorite event's we do because of how light hearted and fun it always is. Everyone always comes up with the most creative valentines and boxes and it is just always a good time all around. This years valentines party was celebrated with 30 of our amazing community members at Dance Scene Studios in Aurora. We had many familiar faces but also we were excited to see several new faces. We played dance charades, ate lots of sweets, and saw one of the BEST valentines boxes to date (see the amazing pirate ship above by @Claypop on instagram) A big thank you to everyone who came to make the day fun and full of friendship! I can't wait for next year. The next event up on our recap is our very special Honey and Sope day! February 26th, BananaJinTrades and I partnered once again to celebrate Jhope and Suga of BTS! We celebrated at the amazing Ju's coffee in Parker and for this event we decided to go Bee theme in honor of the two sweet boys. Personally this cupsleeve was one of my favorites that I have ever designed. With the colors and theme I just love how it turned out and looked. For those who know me they know that decorating is kind of my thing. So in true sage fashion we went all out in our decorations for this event. We had flowers and bees everywhere we could reach and a special backdrop to help everyone commemorate the day! Aside from the décor we also got a special Bundt cake to make it a true birthday party. And what a party it was! We ended up running out of sleeves and we had about 200 participants that came and saw us! Our biggest event to date! Like most of my events we collected donations for charity to make the celebration even more meaningful. For this event we were raising money for the Colorado State Beekeeper Association. We raised $815 to help save the bees!!! Thank you so much to everyone who helped us raise so much for such a good cause. We also held a raffle of a BTS ita bag, 1 Suga and 1 Jhope pin, and then special SOPE washi tape. A big congratulations to Karen L. for being our winner of this special prize! After honey and sope day we had two smaller cupsleeve events - the first being TXT's 3rd anniversary! March 5th, we celebrated with a color pop/skateboard theme - fitting with their recent music videos of Love Song and Lo$er Lover. We once again celebrated at Ju's coffee, and although this event was smaller than some of my others we still had a blast. Our freebies included a bias card as well as a fun postcard of all the members and one group PC. We also had a backdrop and cut outs of all 5 members for people to take photos with. One of the biggest hits of the celebration however had to be the small tech decks that were scattered about - it was so fun to see everyone excitedly playing with them. Lastly, we did't have a donation this time but we still held a raffle! Raffling off 1 album, 1 shaker Keychain, and 1 sticker. Big congratulations to Rico for winning the raffle prize! Two weeks after TXT Day, March 19th, we celebrated P!Harmony coming to Denver with a P1Harmony cupsleeve! unfortunately the concert got postponed but that wasn't going to stop a celebration. I partnered with @Paintedblossoms for this event, hosted at Snowl off of Havana. The amazing workers at Snowl came up with two special drinks for our event - the "Fairy Like This" which was a hibiscus tea and the "Peacemaker," a delicious Lychee Flavored Coconut milk. Like always we had a special photobooth area as well as a raffle - raffling off the P1Haromy lightstick for 1 lucky winner! On March 26th, we had yet another celebration cupsleeve! This time we were celebrating Stray kids 4th anniversary. I partnered with Chloe, Trista, and Sean to bring you this wonderful event. This was my second Stray Kid's event I hosted, the first being Han and Felix day last year - and I was blown away by the positive response. We had over 100 participants! Hosted at Snowl off of Havana, we went with a The View theme - having loved the pastel colors and flower feel. The staff at Snowl came up with a special menu - the signature Skz drink, the Nachimbong Milk tea and then a special event specific drink in honor of their latest song at the time - the Maniac Blast. Both drinks were delicous as always. For this event I wanted to go a bit bigger than normal considering how popular the group has become. With that I paid special attention to to our backdrop. Creating "door" out of foam to mimic the one in the View music video. We also had a very special vendor, Minty.Micki selling bracelets, prints, buttons and more! For this event we held a raffle of the new maniac album and a specially designed photocard shaker by my good friend Rocketcattcreats, A big thank you to everyone who came out and made the day that much more special! Finally moving into April events, Prim Rose and I partnered up to bring you our Vanner in Denver Cupsleeve! To celebrate Vanners 3rd time coming to Denver and 2nd concert in our city, we wanted to throw a cupsleeve to commemorate the occasion! This time we held the event at a brand new location! Colorado Tea Station downtown, only 11 minutes from Summit Music Hall. The new location is beautiful with a cherry blossom décor and we were so excited to use the space for a special event. Our theme for this event was Carnival, to go along with one of their performances of Rollin which was carnival theme. We had Pcs, and prints, but also each person got a cotton candy lollipop and all the goodie served together in a popcorn bag to fit the theme! April 3rd was the concert! Held at Summit Music Hall be Code1 Entertainment - it was a fantastic turn out as always. For those who may not know, Vanner was the first Kpop group to come to Denver. Brought here by lots of hard work and petitioning, it finally happened and they continue to visit us and put on amazing shows! I got the VIP package, meaning I got to experience the sound check, a 1 on 1 photo with the boys, a signed album (plus other merch) and the hello wave. Seeing the guys is always a good time and this will actually be my second photo with them - and in both Gon has always made a goofy face. For this concert I created special memorabilia tickets to pass out as freebies to everyone. I was also one of the leads on the special smiley face project that would be held up during their song "Better Do Better" do hopefully bring a smile to the boys face's. All in all the concert was fantastic as usual. One of the special stages they gave us was Taehwan performing Love Song by TXT - and for those who know me Love Song is my FAVORITE TXT song and Taehwan is my Vanner bias wrecker so it was such a treat to hear him perform it. His voice also fit the song beautifully. Hyesung and Ahxian also performed Permission to Dance for as as well as Ahcian, Gon, and Yungkwang performed a high power song (Im sorry I dont know the name ;A;) that left us all jumping. At the end of the concert, Code1 had 1 on 1 poloroids for sale and of course I had to get one with each boy (and had to make up for loosing my Hyesung ticket last time). The concert was just so much fun and I can not wait to see Vanner back in Denver yet again! A day after Vanner, April 4th, we had our reschedule of the Epik High concert! I have been listening to Epik High for years - having been one of the first groups I was introduced to on my Kpop journey. Although they are not a typical concert I would attend I was so excited to hear some of my favorite songs from them like "Dont Hate Me" and "Born Hater." I can happily say they did not disappoint! I also had the honor of being able to design a special hand banner for this concert, commissioned by the lovely Aida. It unfortunately had the original date from before the reschedule, however it was still a fun thing to have anyway and I really enjoyed designing it. Next up in our recap was our Buy, Sell, trade day! BananaJinTrades and I partnered once again to bring you a day of buying, selling, and trading official and fanmade kpop goods. Held at Riize coffee we had over 30 sellers signed up - 10 of them being creators in our Makers Market bringing you all the missing pieces you need for your collection. I saw many older kpop albums, Japanese tour merch, smaller group merch, and of course, lots and lots of photocards! I myself had a table but I think I spent all my earning that same day! Thank you so much to all the sellers and buyers that came to our event and made it even bigger than the last one! May 13th we finally got our rescheduled P1Harmony concert! I admittedly don't know many P1Harmony songs but I had an amazing time at the concert! I passed out memorabilia tickets once again and then had a blast at the show. They were so high energy and fun it was just like a giant party! It was lovely to see so many out of state fans getting to experience our venues for the first time! One thing I did want to say that I observed was there were many people running out of their seats and crowding the middle isle to get closer to the guys. I know we all want to be close and see them but please please don't do this! This is so unsafe and also not fair to the people who bought the seats in front of you. All in all it was a great time and I truly hope that P1Harmony decides to come see us again! The last event that I will cover in this long recap will be Seventeen Day! Seventeen Day didn't happen that long ago, only taking place on May 28th. I partnered with Trista and Chloe again and we were so excited to host this event at SNowl #2! Snowls new location off parker road and it was AMAZING! The new location is much larger and has large TVs for our Kpop MV Viewing pleasure! I learned at my last years Seventeen event that we have LOTS of carats here in Colorado and they did not disappoint. This year we had over 100 participants and many new faces! We went with the Darling theme - meaning lots of flowers and light colors all around. I made special scrabble pieces to spell out Seventeen for the backdrop and Chloe and Trista were lovely enough to lend their albums for us to display. Snowl created a special drink for our event - the Darling You-gurt Tea and it was fabulous. We also had three vendors for this event, back for a second year we had Ripanagaby, and we also welcomed the fabulous Simplecreations and CherrybeanCo to our event. It was such a wonderful time and I enjoyed seeing the looks of happiness on everyones face as we watched Hot on the big screen. Thank you to everyone who has come and supported any of these events and concerts! Also a big thank you for anyone who stuck with me through this long blog. I will do my best to get better at updating in a more timely manner. Please keep a look out in the next day or two for my BTS in Vegas blog!
Hope to see you all at upcoming events, be sure to check out the calendar to see what's happening.
